Summary
Assess the general health status of ambulatory clients age 18 months and older. Develops, plans and implements a plan of care within MedBasics Health Clinic scope of service protocols. Works in collaboration with physician to provide medical aspect of care. Responsible for daily operations of clinic-based services in a retail setting. Demonstrates understanding and support of business goals by marketing clinic services within the store and the community. Engages customers by actively collaborating with patients to provide healthcare, promote health screenings and other personal health management services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide episodic care, screening and educational support to our MedBasics Health Clinic patients.
  • Extend warm, compassionate care to all with a respect for the diversity of all patients.
  • Committed to excellence, best practices, and superior customer service with every patient.
  • Watches for potential store customer interest and promotes clinic services.
  • Engages patients by collaborating about personal health and promoting health screens and health management services.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of marketing strategy and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Supports the business model by increasing patient visits and managing resources.
  • Understands the positive impact of exceptional customer service on return visits and patient referrals to the clinic.
  • Respects patient's time by ensuring that clinics are open as scheduled.
  • Communicates frequently to patients in waiting areas about estimated time of service and strives to see patients the same day they present for service.
  • Support and follow the most current evidence-based guidelines of practice as you provide quality patient care.
  • Provide diagnostic screenings such as cholesterol and blood glucose as outlined in the MedBasics Health Clinic evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide common vaccinations such as Td, MMR and Influenza as outlined in the MedBasics Health Clinic evidence-based guidelines.
  • Fully embrace and utilize the MedBasics Health Clinic latest technology to provide patients with access to their medical records and fast, accurate prescriptions.
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education.
  • Maintain current state nurse licensure and recognition as an advance practice nurse. Maintain current national certification.
  • Keep up-to-date on nurse practitioner public policy.
  • Continuously communicate with MedBasics Health Clinic leadership to enhance our patient centric experiences at our MedBasics Health Clinic.
  • Participates in daily calls by sharing ideas and concerns.
  • Complete training on MedBasics Health Clinic electronic medical records and information systems; utilize the systems to the fullest capacity to provide superior patient care documentation.
  • Adheres to clinic policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Corporate Clinical Director.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
Minimum of two years primary care clinical experience. Recent experience in pediatrics, 18 months and older. Meet and maintain all legal requirement per state and national statutes.

Certificates and Licenses
Valid state license as an RN and recognized as an advance practice nurse. Valid national nurse practitioner certification in family practice. Current CPR basic life support certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises and oversees the actions of the Medical Assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
