MedXpress Chairman and CEO Brian Jones Joins Other Major Industry
Executives as Founding Members of New Trade Association

Formed by retail clinic owners, Convenient Care Association to deliver guidance,
develop standards, and provide stronger representation

DALLAS (November 1, 2006) – Responding to the major issues and concerns of accessible health care in America, MedXpress Inc. Chairman and CEO Brian Jones, along with other members of the Convenient Care industry, have joined forces to create a new trade organization The Convenient Care Association (CCA). In addition to being a founding member of the executive board of the Convenient Care Association, Jones has also been appointed as the association s Membership Chairman.

The association currently represents 12 Convenient Care Clinic organizations, including MedXpress, which currently operates clinics in Dallas-Fort Worth. MedXpress plans opening 25 clinics across the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex over the next three years and 500 clinics nationwide.

Convenient care clinics, also known as retail medical clinics, are usually found inside pharmacies, grocery stores or large retail stores. Staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, convenient care clinics provide routine, non-emergency services to walk-in patients at affordable prices seven days a week.

"The Convenient Care industry has revolutionized the way patients access health care today," says Jones. " That kind of impact is energizing, and we look forward to expanding our membership."

The Convenient Care Association, supported by its members, is committed to:

  • Ongoing development of uniform protocols which enhance and assist clinics' health care providers
  • Implementing medical record sharing procedures with physicians and other health care providers
  • Offering recommendations, based on established best practices, for patient follow-up care

"We are thrilled to participate in an industry association which will pave the way for growth and success. Together, we will share best practice, unify our voices, and partner with the existing medical community to better serve our patients," Jones said.

Already, the CCA has secured an important endorsement for its approach to health care delivery. The American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) recently adopted a resolution praising the Convenient Care industry and its accessible, high quality healthcare of delivery.
