MedBasics, a leading operator of retail health clinics providing convenient, affordable and quality non-emergency medical services, announced today that it will expand its clinic business to Kansas City through an agreement with Ball's Food Stores to open approximately 15 clinics in Price Chopper Stores and Hen House Markets.
Ball's Food Stores, which operates 15 Price Chopper Stores and 13 Hen House Markets in the Kansas City area, expects to open the first in-store clinic in late summer 2007.
"Our partnership with MedBasics will offer Price Chopper and Hen House Market customers a convenient and affordable way to access high-quality basic healthcare," said Mike Beal, Chief Financial Officer of Ball's Foods. "We expect the in-store clinics to provide a much needed service to our customers, and to be a great overall benefit to Ball's Food Stores."
MedBasics CEO Brian Jones said the agreement with Ball's Food Stores will help the company continue to expand its convenient healthcare model.

MedBasics clinics, which are staffed by licensed nurse practitioners and physician's assistants, offer a variety of routine medical services including physical exams, immunizations, flu shots and treatment of common illnesses like allergies, bladder infections, bronchitis, ear and sinus infections and strep throat. Visits normally take 15 minutes, with no appointments needed, and are $49 for most services.
